German tuner SMN Motors is revamping the current S-Class into a luxurious sport sedan, boasting a staggering 592 horsepower (600 metric hp) and 605 pound-feet (820 Newton-meters) of torque. This impressive creation has been dubbed the SMN600 by the company.
Starting with the S580 4Matic as a base, the company utilizes a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, originally producing 496 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. While the specific tuning details are not provided, the company enhances the power output by an additional 96 hp and 89 lb-ft.
The vehicle is also equipped with a stainless steel exhaust featuring a flap control system that works alongside the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) actuators.
The sedan showcases a carbon-fiber body kit, encompassing elements like a front splitter, air intake surrounds, side skirts, mirror caps, trunk lid spoiler, and rear diffuser. It rolls on 22-inch wheels, crafted from milled aluminum blocks, featuring a stylish multi-spoke design.
The brake calipers are adorned in the Royal Mint color, which harmonizes with the upholstery shade in the cabin.
Inside the S-Class, SMN Motors adorns the seats, door panels, dashboard, center console, steering wheel, pillars, and headliner with a combination of Nappa leather and Alcantara.
However, if the Royal Mint color doesn’t suit your taste, the company offers the option to customize the car in a different color. Additionally, the roof is illuminated with LED lights, creating a starry effect.
SMN Motors provides two options for obtaining an SMN600: customers can either have the car built entirely from scratch by the company or bring their own W223-generation S-Class for modifications.
Furthermore, the company is capable of performing the necessary modifications on both short-wheelbase and long-wheelbase versions of the vehicle.
For those seeking an even more formidable S-Class, Mercedes already offers the AMG S63 E Performance plug-in hybrid, which happens to be the most powerful S-Class ever produced by the manufacturer. This model combines a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine with an electric motor mounted on the rear axle, resulting in a staggering total of 791 hp and 1,055 lb-ft of torque.
Accelerating from 0 to 62 mph takes approximately 3.2 seconds. In the United States, the AMG Driver’s Package is standard, allowing for a top speed of 180 mph. In Europe, this package is optional, with a maximum velocity of 155 mph otherwise.
The S63 E Performance is equipped with notable features such as adaptive air suspension and active roll stabilization. It also incorporates active engine mounts that provide adjustable stiffness in the connection between the V8 engine and the body. Additionally, an aluminum stabilizer bar is positioned beneath the V8 for enhanced stability.
