Although not in its original state, the Polo has undergone significant modifications, including upgraded injectors and cam, a larger turbocharger, and enhanced intake and exhaust pipes. While the sub-assembly remains unchanged, the blacked-out Polo holds an astonishing secret: the inclusion of nitrous oxide.
During the initial dyno run, the 1.9-liter TDI engine relied solely on the turbocharger boost. It generated an impressive output of 366 horsepower and 587 Newton-meters of torque, with approximately 40 pounds per square inch (2.8 bar) of pressure from the hybrid turbo.
Subsequently, with the introduction of nitrous into the equation, the car surged to 472 horsepower and 789 Newton-meters of torque. However, the impressive feats didn’t end there. After a few more dyno runs, the compact Polo, armed with its extensively modified diesel engine, astonishingly unleashed a remarkable 513 horsepower and 865 Newton-meters of torque.
Surpassing the power of a base Porsche 911, which generates 379 horsepower from its twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six engine, the modified Polo stands triumphant. It even outperforms the Dodge Charger Scat Pack, equipped with a 485 horsepower 6.4-liter V8. While the Porsche begins at $114,400, the Charger has an MSRP of $50,330.
Moreover, the interior of this city car has been stripped down, resulting in weight reduction. This transformation turns it into a remarkable super sleeper that is likely to outperform many significantly more expensive vehicles.
