As the premier off-road-focused trim of the new Tacoma, the TRD Pro model boasts several performance enhancements. It is equipped with Fox suspension components, including Quick Switch 3 three-way adjustable internal bypass 2.5-inch shocks with remote reservoirs and Internal Floating Piston (IFP) rear bump stops. Additionally, TRD provides red, aluminum upper control arms. The truck offers an impressive ground clearance of up to 11 inches. Without the towing package, the off-road angles are as follows: 33.8 degrees for approach, 23.5 degrees for breakover, and 25.7 degrees for departure. To further enhance off-road capabilities, the Tacoma TRD Pro features an electronic-locking rear differential.
The TRD Pro variant of the Tacoma is powered by Toyota’s i-Force Max hybrid system, which combines a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor. To enhance its performance, this model features a TRD air intake and cat-back exhaust. It is worth noting that this engine configuration is exclusively paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
For off-road adventures, the Tacoma TRD Pro offers the Multi-Terrain Monitor, utilizing cameras to provide drivers with improved visibility of the terrain ahead. In case of any mishaps, the truck is equipped with front and rear recovery hooks and skid plates for added protection. Enhancing its off-road capabilities, the vehicle is fitted with 33-inch Goodyear Territory R/T tires for a reliable and robust ride.
The TRD Pro model can be easily recognized by the LED light bar positioned at the center of its grille. Additionally, the truck features a durable metal bumper sourced from ARB at the rear.
The TRD Pro’s interior is equipped with IsoDynamic Performance front seats, designed to provide exceptional comfort and stability during off-road excursions. These seats incorporate an internal air-over-oil shock absorber suspension system, allowing for driver stabilization. Conveniently, levers on the seatbacks enable fine-tuning of the dampening effect. Additionally, this trim level features a spacious 14.0-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, offering advanced technology and display capabilities.
