Porsche and Austrian shipyard Frauscher have collaborated on an exciting project that involves the creation of an all-electric sports boat. The boat, named the Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air, will be powered by the same electric powertrain as the upcoming Porsche Macan EV.
In an official sketch released by the companies, the next-generation Macan EV is showcased alongside the boat. The sketch reveals a sleek design with a raked rear, resembling the profiles of the Panamera and Taycan.
The Macan EV is expected to feature 800-volt technology and a 100-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. The boat will integrate various components such as the electric motor, 800-volt architecture, high-voltage battery, and power electronics.
While specific power details for the boat are not mentioned, it is known that the Macan EV will offer a high-performance version with up to 603 horsepower and over 738 pound-feet of torque. Both the Macan EV and the Fantom Air are slated for a 2024 debut, with an initial production run of 25 units for the boat.

While spy shots of the upcoming zero-emissions Macan are not uncommon, a newly released sketch provides a fresh perspective on its design.
The digital sketch reveals a side view of the upcoming crossover, showcasing a more sloping rear design reminiscent of the Panamera and Taycan models.
The tail lights of the Macan EV appear to resemble those of the Taycan, featuring a seamless red light strip spanning the width of the vehicle.
The official release confirms that the upcoming Porsche Macan EV will be built on the new PPE architecture, incorporating 800-volt technology and equipped with a approximately 100-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack.
The Frauscher x Porsche 850 Fantom Air, a variant of the Frauscher 858 Fantom Air day cruiser, will incorporate key components such as the permanent magnet synchronous electric motor, 800-volt architecture, high-voltage battery, and associated power electronics.
While the announcement doesn’t specify the power output of the boat, we are aware that the highest-performing Macan model will offer a powerful all-wheel drive system generating up to 603 horsepower.
In terms of charging capabilities, reports suggest that the electric Macan will support charging speeds exceeding 270 kW, potentially allowing for faster recharging than the Taycan, which has a maximum charging capacity of 270 kW.
Similar to the upcoming all-electric Macan, the Fantom Air will also be introduced in 2024. The initial release will feature a limited first edition of 25 units manufactured in Ohlsdorf, Austria.
